Replicant Type System & Specimen

Typeface | Print

Replicant is a display typeface system designed with two weights in two styles - solid and outline.

The name “Replicant,” inspired by the cult classic sci-fi film Blade Runner, references the typeface’s repeating concentric lines and its ability to be perpetually layered. Its style encourages play with scale, transparency, and overlapping to create typographic textures and patterns. For example, the thin weight is designed to align into the center of the thick weight, allowing for multiple overlay effects when using the solid and outline styles. It’s especially great for headline type!
